Job Summary
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a designer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our Ann Arbor, Michigan office. Flexibility is available to work virtually but employee will need to live within driving distance of the office.
Roles and Responsibilities
The position involves drafting, modeling, and design opportunities on electric utility substation projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing CAD knowledge; learn client standards, practices, and procedures to ensure that work produced conforms to the client's standards and expectations; be responsible for knowing and following POWER's standards, procedures, and processes; collaborate on design issues; seek guidance from those with more experience; and mentor/direct those with less experience.
Required Education/Experience
Associates degree (or equivalent education/experience) in drafting, engineering technology, architecture, or other technical discipline.
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
Knowledge of utility level (medium to high voltage) electrical substations.
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with other team members.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
Desired Education/Experience
- Drafting, modeling, and/or design experience in Inventor, or AutoCAD Electrical.
