Calico Precision Molding, LLC Setup Technician: 3rd shift in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Setup Technician Calico Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, Incumbent is responsible for monitoring, and maintaining standards through the setting of all tools and cycling presses prior to production per the established set up sheets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

DUTIES Set and cleans all production tools; Cycles presses per established set up sheets; Checks machine safeties and lubricates all tool areas as needed; May verify and document the quality of all parts to the print after start up, retaining all morgue shots; Changes mold components when necessary; Maintains a high level of house keeping at all times; Informs others on shift of position at the start and end of shift; Builds and maintains machine chutes as necessary to keep product from getting lost or dirty; Maintains schedule to assist in coordinating mold changes efficiently; Maintains Safety practices at all times; Follow all Calico procedures and processes. Performs other duties as assigned filling in for production needs as required. Qualification Requirements: Complete JFA-8020 Training Checklist-Process-Setup Technician

REQUIREMENTS

  • Any combination of education equivalent to a high school education;
  • Minimum one year experience in Mechanical or Mold Set up; preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment;
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Ability to understand processes involved in manufacturing;
  • Ability to perform job to acceptable standards.

DIFFICULTY OF WORK The work consists of tasks or duties requiring some previous knowledge and understanding. The incumbent works with established regulations and procedures and uses judgment to analyze and recommends improvements for operating procedures and maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITY, OWNERSHIP AND AWARENESS: Incumbent is aware and understands their impact on product quality and will take ownership over their responsibilities. Incumbent knows the importance of achieving, maintaining product quality. This includes meeting our customer requirements and understanding the risk involved with non-conforming (reject) product reaching our customer. Work is of some complexity requiring a moderate degree of decision making in the application of procedures and methods in determining appropriate remedies for diverse problems. Work is performed under the direction of assignments and methods only, with periodic review of assignments.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS Incumbent has contact with other plant employees. The purpose of these contacts is to exchange information regarding mold types and specific processes within the production line and to maintain production and quality standard and goals.

PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Incumbent works with frequent exposure to dust, grease, extreme temperature, and is frequently involved in work that involves a chance of major injury or loss of life. Physical effort is exerted regularly for sustained periods and includes moderate lifting up to 55 lbs., pulling, pushing, reaching, bending. At times, extreme pulling, and pushing of 400-900lbs is required.

SUPERVISION This position does not supervise anyone.

LICENSE NEEDED Forklift License
