Meijer Seeking Fresh Retail Leaders for Grand Rapids Area in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Currently, Meijer is looking for a Fresh Line Leader . In this leadership role you will plan, direct and supervise team members in the day to day operations in all areas of produce, deli, meat/seafood, and bakery. This also includes selection, training and development/coaching of your team. You will work to develop strategies to improve customer service, drives store sales and increase profitability. As always, a top priority will be delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Deliverables:

  • Supervises the execution of the Merchandising plan

  • Responsible for P&L, achieving sales, labor and margin plans for the department

  • Implements processes to achieve goals including shrink, margin, profit, sales, labor

  • Develops, coaches and trains staff

  • Manages staff schedule

  • Plans and executes recruitment strategy for team, including: hiring and onboarding

  • Reviews Fresh team daily ad orders for completeness and accuracy

  • Drives customer experience enhancements through Customer Surveys and customer feedback

  • Supervises the all aspects of the Fresh Team

  • Promotes a safe work environment throughout the area

  • Reliable and consistent attendance required

  • Work until at least 11pm on nights scheduled to close

  • Other daily tasks as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required

  • At least 6 related experience in the retail industry or related service industries

  • Experience in the following areas highly preferred:ents in other areas of the store such as grocery, meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful

  • Clear communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root cause issues

  • Ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions

  • Demonstrated ability to coach suggestive selling with team members

  • Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times

  • ServSafe Certification

  • Duty trained
