EDUStaff Position: Individuals hired into this position will be employed by EDUStaff and assigned to Mid Michigan College.

This position is responsible for preparing for and teaching courses in criminal Justice in order to achieve course requirements and student success outcomes.

This position is for a daytime instructor on the Harrison campus

Responsibilities

  1. Teaches assigned classroom courses.
  2. Develops and updates syllabi for courses assigned and ensures course content and requirements meet the requirements of college and accreditation agencies.
  3. Develops appropriate assessment tools to determine course effectiveness and assures that student outcomes are achieved.
  4. Consistently assess learning outcomes and assist in developing strategies for quality improvement.
  5. Assesses student academic achievement and provides students with timely and meaningful feedback on progress in the course(s).
  6. Maintains and reports appropriate classroom records, to include student attendance and grades.
  7. Holds appropriate office hours for meeting with and assisting students.
  8. Maintains regular communication with full-time and adjunct faculty in the assigned departments(s), and the Library and Learning Services area, and Registrar and Retention Services.
  9. Works collaboratively with the Criminal Justice Coordinator in refining and modifying existing courses.
  10. Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service programs within the department and college-wide; serves on college committees as encouraged/assigned.
  11. Adheres to the policies, procedures, and compliance guidelines of the college. Ensures all communications and practices demonstrate support of the Ethics for Teaching Professionals.
  12. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives. Adheres to the organization's policies & procedures and compliance guidelines.
  13. Per the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act),a federal consumer protection law, your job position entails functions that meet the definition of a Campus Security Authority (CSA). CSAs have a duty to report any crime to the College's Clery Compliance Officer. This information may be disclosed to them directly, through third-party, or witnessed. As a CSA, you are required to complete annual training which is provided by the College. This training encompasses your role, responsibilities, and reporting obligations.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of the Criminal Justice, Police, Courts, and Corrections systems.

Good understanding of colleges, Police Academies, and other related Criminal Justice organizations.

Good organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, and communication skills; exceptional written and verbal skills.
