Position Summary:

Orderly works in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent service to our patients. An Orderly is expected to perform routine patient transportation and services duties such as stocking linens and delivering specimen.

What Orderly will do:

  • Assists with or transports patients according to the proper techniques of body mechanics to protect patient and personal safety. As required, provides postmortem care and transports a body in a dignified, safe and precise manner to the morgue.

  • Demonstrates a reliable and dependable ability to follow through with designated responsibilities in the collecting, labeling and transporting of specimens to the proper areas at the appropriate times. Assists in delivering technical care to emergency patients, at the direction of the RN.

What Orderly will need:

  • High school graduate or equivalent educational competency. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program preferred. Equivalent education and /or Prior employment experience preferred.

  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.

  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification or completion of certification within probationary period. Prior patient care experience preferred.

  • Ability to read written instructions and comprehend verbal instructions.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Knowledge of sterile technique preferred.
