Covenant HealthCare US:MI:SAGINAW DAY SHIFT OCCASION Summary: The Child Care Aide demonstrates excellent customer service performance in that his/her attitude and actions are at all times consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare and the commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation. This person is responsible for the proper implementation of basic care, interpersonal interaction, developmentally appropriate practices and activities for the children in their care at the center.

Responsibilities: Participates in monthly staff meetings. Contributes to planning, coordination, and participation in special events and functions beyond normal routine. Assists in implementing developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans to meet group as a whole while allowing for specific individual developmental needs. Supervises the children's activities. Assures that childcare policies are followed and legal compliance with the State of Michigan Child Care Division. Demonstrates and promotes excellent customer service following WE CARE values. Responsible for successful parent satisfaction. Supports other staff in the performance of daily duties while maintaining a positive attitude. All staff shall be of responsible character and suitable to meet the needs of children. All staff shall provide appropriate care and supervision of children at all times. Infant safe sleep and shaken baby syndrome training Blood-borne pathogen training Emergency procedures training 16 clock hours of annual professional development

Other information: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) preferred Current certification in CPR and First Aide Infant, Child & Adult Preferred: 2-5 years of experience working within the Early Childhood Development field

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Working knowledge of the applicable Michigan Child Care Licensing rules. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Warm nurturing, patient demeanor with children and parents. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills Proven ability to work under stressful situations with a positive attitude Ability to multitask Ability to tolerate unintentional interruptive behavior from children of various age groups

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to maintain punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Constant lift up 25 lbs. Constant twisting, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing. Constant near vision, midrange vison, depth perception. Constant visual accommodation, color vision, field of vision. Frequent lift up to 50 lbs. Frequent standing, walking, crouching, squatting. Occasional sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing. Occasional stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting.
