What You'll Work On

• Applying high quality scientific techniques in themicrobiological analysisof raw ingredients,in-process production samples,finished product testingandenvironmental monitoring, to ensure that all products manufactured are fit for use

• Complete appropriatedocumentation, audit and release of commodities or products

• Completehousekeepingresponsibilities includingautoclave, waste disposal, general laboratory sanitation, etc.

• Ability to prepare media for test procedures

• Demonstrateaccountabilityandresponsibilityfor Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance andcompliancethrough active participation and support of Abbott’sEHSProgram.

• Partner with fellow technicians, with a high degree ofmotivation, attention to important details with clear communication to all team members. This is important due to the high degree ofresponsibilityand working within a small group where each person is relied upon highly.

• Do alltestingin the lab through instruction via manuals and throughtraining

• Problemsolving when test results are out-of-specification to assign a cause and rule lab error

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Pay and Shift

This position's start rate is $23.00 per hour + a 5% shift differential . The hours are 6:30 pm to 7:00 am on a rotating schedule which provides every other weekend off.

SCHEDULE EXAMPLE:

WEEK 1:

WORK: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 6:30PM - 7:00AM EST.

DAYS OFF: Wednesday AND Thursday.

WEEK 2:

WORK: Wednesday & Thursday: 6:30PM - 7:00AM EST.

DAYS OFF: Monday, Tuesday AND Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED

• 1 year of appropriate college science with lab (biology,microbiology,chemistry, physics, environmental sciences,organic chemistry, orbiochemistry)

• 1 year college mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, or calculus)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in science related field

• 2+ years laboratory experience

• Experience in a food orpharmaceutical manufacturingenvironment
