CPM Century Extrusion in Traverse City MI, has decades of experience in the development of highly engineered twin screw extrusion systems covering different levels of extruders, from entry level to high level specifications for various customer requirements, as well as high performance process section components. In addition, Century Extrusion has a large and rigorous parts portfolio available.

Schedule : First Shift.

Work Setting : 

  • In-person .

  • Manufacturing facility.

Pay : $28 - $32 DOE.

CNC Programmer Duties:

  • Compile, revise and maintain a current project/task log with an estimated time line. Provide departmental leadership with monthly updates.

  • Complete projects/tasks based upon identified priorities and mutually accepted time estimates.

  • Communicate needs and initiate requests for necessary information to facilitate timely completion of assigned tasks. This may require but is not limited to direct communication within Company Divisions, Strategic Business Partners, Suppliers, Vendors and Customers.

  • Work within all current and future organizational and specific engineering ISO procedures.

  • Supply accurate and efficient programs using best practices and proven machining methods.

  • Supply all programs with adequate documentation including accurate tooling and part set up instructions. Including proper tool selection with manufactures recommended feeds and speeds.

  • Utilizing company supported CAM and optimization software.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of efficient machining processes for new products.

  • Perform limited administrative and/or report writing as required.

  • Perform other engineering functions as deemed necessary by the department leader.

  • Work independently or as a team towards critical time lines in a multi-task environment.

    Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and a two year degree in manufacturing engineering or three to five years of CNC programming experience in a qualified manufacturing environment. This experience must be within but not limited to the selected manufacturing method.

  • Computer skills to maintain effective use of resident programming software and Microsoft Office products.

  • Must have excellent blue print reading skills, with experience in 2D CAD detailing and 3D modeling.

  • Math requirements for this position include algebra, geometry and trigonometry.

  • Must have an excellent understanding of the programming language and controls used on the equipment within his/her manufacturing area.

  • Oral and writing skills to effectively convey technically complex and complete ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Organizational and interpersonal skills to work effectively alone and within a team environment.

  • Capability  of working against critical deadlines and function effectively in a multi task environment.
