Eaton Corporation Proposal Manager in Waukesha, Wisconsin

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Proposal Manager.

This role is based in Waukesha, WI. No relocation assistance for this role.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $105000.03 - $154000.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

The Proposal Manager will lead a team of Specialists and Proposal Analysts. This team will prepare engineer to order transformer proposals. In addition, you will be managing daily operations for the department including resolution of issues related to quotes and orders, interfacing with outside sales agents and management. You will also be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives.

In this role you will:

  • Prioritize, plan, organize, and control workflow in a team environment.

  • Assure an effective and skilled staff through recruiting, assessment of talent (find gaps and follow action plans to fill gaps), training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisal, and conformance to applicable company policies.

  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure professional growth for employees and retention

  • Establish and monitor goals and provide performance feedback through data analysis, as needed, for direct reports

  • Improve department effectiveness through process improvement, utilizing lean tools to streamline the quote and order processes to improve speed, accuracy, and customer experience

  • Work closely with sales management, sales reps, agents, and technical support staff to meet and/or exceed the transformer sales objectives for Power Systems Division

  • Occasional travel to manufacturing plants, and customer or agent locations, to resolve problems and/or improve relations.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or similar discipline from an accredited institution.

• Five (5) years in Manufacturing or Electrical Industry

• Two (2) years Supervisory or Leadership Experience

• No relocation assistance will be provided for this role. Only candidates that reside within a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

• Must be eligible to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Criteria:

• Supervisory experience in an engineer-to-order environment

• Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, MVP, Greenbelt)

• Product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals experience in a technical field

• Experience using ERP (SAP is a plus) and quotation systems

Skills:

• Knowledge of electric power distribution transformers and their components and accessories

• Knowledge of typical applications, equipment, systems and standards for electric power distribution transformers

• Desire to teach and mentor direct reports with authentic leadership
